Istanbul
is an enormous melting pot of cultures. The influences range from Mediterranean
to Asian to Middle Eastern – and nowhere is it better illustrated than in the
markets. The Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar are brimming with and explosion of
colours and flavours.
Overwhelming
and intoxicating, the Spice Bazaar sells everything from ‘Love Tea’ to pink
peppercorns to Sumac to designer (and expensive) Turkish Delight… Needless to
say, we had to go back to the hotel to unload the bags of spices I bought J
Here
are some pics from the markets.
