So the fiancé and I decided to make a road trip out of our LONG drive down to the Wild Coast by staying over in the Midlands. Besides the utter beauty of the area and all the cows (love em!), we just adored the beer and biltong!
There are plenty of places to visit (and things to taste) on the Midlands Meander, and we particularly enjoyed the Beer Tasting at the Nottingham Road Brewing Company (at Rawdons Hotel) where we tried the Light Lager, Pale Ale, Pilsner and Porter, each with its own animal character! A not-to-be-missed stop is the Biltong shop at the Engen Garage (just take the Mooi River off ramp). You can choose from a range of flavours and styles and also have it freshly sliced. The Traditional and Spiced flavours are superb! Do yourself a favour and pop in on your way down to or back from Durban.
